Taking in the Mediteranean

We arrived safe and sound at our apartment in Menton, France.  Our travel day was surprisingly easy.  We barely slept on the plane and we came close to missing our connection in Munich.  We were able to navigate to our apartment without directions as the ones I printed were reversed and somewhat useless - we kind of just knew where to go.  The kids were great, no melt downs or grumpiness at all.

We spent our first day swimming in the crowded Meditaranian and looking around. This place is very kid friendly.  There are kids running around everywhere. Very tanned loud happy kids everywhere.  We did manage to find a family that is whiter than us but they didn't last long at the beach!

We wanted to have an early dinner and get to bed early but it turns out restaurants aren't even open until 7pm and even at that hour you are the only people there.

Our apartment is great, the most exciting features are the bidets.  So of course we had to try them out.  After spilling water all over the bathroom floor and drying off our pants we decided to look up on the internet how to use these things. Now we are experts.  Our apartment has 2 toilets and 3 bidets - I guess the French really like clean bums.

I am loving the plants around here.  There are so many amazing succulent gardens, orange and lemon trees full of fruit, huge flowering bushes and vines and so many types of palm trees.  It is really spectacular.

Tomorrow we are travelling to the mountains and I am looking forward to some cooler weather.

This tree was amazing - Jaida took this picture of the bark

We jumped and got sprayed with water on these beach trampolines

I always thought  a bidet is a perfect spot to brush teeth!
