Holy Cow - There are so many cows in Switzerland!

For our last day in Lauterbrunnen, we decided to take the tram up to Gruschalp and do the hour walk across to Murren.  It is a beautiful walk with a stop half way at a teeny weeny place called Winteregg.  Here we found another awesome children's playground - honestly, the Swiss have the best play areas for kids.

When we got to Murren, we hopped on the Funiculaire (a train that is slanted to go up a hill) and ended in Almenbuhl where there is yet another playground and this one was the best.  It was a wooden playground with giant flowers and insects on top of a hill with an unobstructed view of Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau.  There were these curved wooden benches all around for the parents to sit comfortably on and rest while the children play.  There was also a little path that loops around with labelled garden beds with all of the wild flowers that we saw on our hikes so we can see what they are.

We finished off the hike by going back down the children's adventure trail again - we had to play on that zip line one last time.

Did I mention that there are cows all over the mountains?  The grass must be pretty tasty on these steep hills because the cows are everywhere.  Most of them have bells on so the whole mountain is constantly ringing - it is really very nice.

Tomorrow we are driving to the Dolomites in northern Italy to meet Terry and Brigitte.  I am sad to leave Lauterbrunnen but so happy we had this time.

we walked one way and took this train back
